Here is every brewery, taproom and pub we could confirm is operating, with a link to its own site. Type is how the place describes itself. Distilleries and wineries are labelled and kept at the bottom.

What breweries are in Kingston?

Kingston has three brewery taprooms and a long-running downtown pub with brewery in its name.

• Daft Brewing, 768 Princess Street. A craft brewery, pizzeria and event space with comedy, trivia, karaoke and drag nights on its calendar. Hours on its site: closed Monday, open from 4 pm Tuesday to Thursday, from 3 pm Friday (to 2 am), and from noon on weekends (to 6 pm Sunday).
• Riverhead Brewing Company, 631 Fortune Crescent, Unit 10. Its site says all of its beer is brewed on site. There is a beer hall with food, takeout pizza and beer, Thursday trivia, live music and comedy. Open from 11:30 am daily, to 10 pm Tuesday to Friday.
• Spearhead Taproom and Retail Store, 675 Development Drive. Spearhead now brands itself as the fusion of Spearhead, Skeleton Park and Signal breweries, with a second taproom at Signal in Corbyville. The Kingston taproom opens at noon daily, to 11 pm Friday and Saturday. Its site says the food menu is coming soon.
• Kingston Brewing Company, 34 Clarence Street, downtown. The site says est. 1986 and lists 28 taps of Ontario craft beer. The bar is open from 11:30 am to midnight Sunday to Thursday and to 1 am Friday and Saturday. It closes December 24, 25 and January 1.

For a pub without a brewery attached, The Toucan and Kirkpatrick's at 76 Princess Street is an Irish pub open until 2 am every day, per its site.

Is there a brewery in Brockville?

Yes. 1000 Island Brewing Company is at 65 King Street West, downtown, in a building from 1895 that it renovated into a brewery and pub. Its site lists beer, cider and hard sodas on tap, food, a retail beer store, brewery tours and brew school nights. Phone 613-342-3772. See its Thrive listing; we do not link the brewery's website while it carries hidden spam links.

Also on King Street West, at number 72, Finnigan's Tavern is a pub open from 11 am daily, to 11 pm most nights and to midnight Friday and Saturday, per its Thrive listing.

Is there a brewery in Gananoque?

We could not confirm one that is operating. The Gananoque brewery website we checked no longer loads, so we have left it off rather than guess. Gananoque pubs and bars on Thrive show below. If you run a brewery or pub in Gananoque, add it free and we will put it in this table.

What breweries and bars are on the US side?

Clayton has the brewpub. Wood Boat Brewery, 625 Mary Street, is a microbrewery with a full restaurant and bar, a few blocks from downtown and next to the Antique Boat Museum. It is open year round, seven days a week. The fall and winter hours on its site (posted from October 2025) are 11 am to 8:30 pm Sunday to Thursday and to 9 pm Friday and Saturday.

Also in Clayton, and labelled as a distillery: Clayton Distillery, 40164 NY Route 12, a farm-based distillery open since April 2013 with tasting flights, cocktails and a retail store. It is pet friendly.

Alexandria Bay is mostly bars attached to restaurants and resorts. The Riverboat Bar, 15 Church Street, is seasonal. The Riverside Sports Bar at Bonnie Castle Resort, 31 Holland Street, has draft and bottled beer and a view of Boldt Castle, and opens at 5 pm late in the week. Thousand Islands Winery, 43298 Seaway Avenue, is a winery, open daily from 10 am.

Watertown: Garland City Beer Works, 321 Howk Street, has brewed in Watertown since September 2018. Its taproom is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 4 pm on weekdays, noon on Saturday and 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday, with a Sunday brunch menu. Its site also lists a Clayton address, but says that taproom is closed. We found no brewery or taproom with a working website in Cape Vincent this month. How much beer can you bring back to Canada from the US?

If you have been out of Canada for at least 48 hours, you can bring back one of these duty free: up to 8.5 litres of beer or ale, 1.5 litres of wine, or a total of 1.14 litres of alcoholic beverages. That is one of the three, not all three. It comes from the CBSA's alcohol and tobacco limits for returning residents (Memorandum D2-3-1).

A few things catch people out:

• Day trips get no alcohol allowance. The 24-hour exemption ($200) does not cover alcohol at all, and neither does a same-day trip. Anything you bring back is charged duty and taxes.
• You must be of drinking age in the province you enter. That is 19 in Ontario.
• Over the limit, you pay. Duty, taxes and provincial assessments apply to the extra, and the province where you cross sets the limits.
• Declare it. If you do not, the CBSA can seize alcohol and will not give it back.
• Beer coolers count as beer. Anything at 0.5% alcohol or less is not treated as alcohol.

How much alcohol can you bring into the US from Canada?

The state where you first enter sets the rules. US Customs and Border Protection says the laws of the state where you arrive govern how much alcohol you can bring and if you need a licence, so check with New York's liquor authority before you pack a case. For returning US residents, CBP's own example is that one litre is duty free under the personal exemption and extra litres are charged duty and tax. That one litre goes with the $800 exemption, which needs at least 48 hours outside the US. Come back the same day and you are on the $200 exemption, which allows 150 millilitres, about 5 fluid ounces. Either way you must be 21 or older.

How do you get between breweries without driving?

Plan a driver or stay the night. We looked for a scheduled water taxi or shuttle linking breweries in this region and did not find one we could confirm, so we are not listing any. Kingston's three taprooms are at three different addresses (Princess Street, Fortune Crescent and Development Drive), so budget for a cab between them.
