Where to Eat in Alexandria Bay

Alexandria Bay's restaurants sit in three places: the resort dining rooms on Holland Street right on the river, the bars and casual spots along James Street by the boat docks, and a run of diners and dinner houses on Church Street. Most of the village is built around the summer boat season, so hours shrink after Labour Day and a lot of places close or cut back after Columbus Day in mid October. Every restaurant below is in Alexandria Bay itself. Hours come from the restaurant's own site or listing.

Which Alexandria Bay restaurants are on the waterfront?
The resorts on Holland Street are the ones built on the water. Both of these say so on their own sites:
- Riveredge Resort, 17 Holland Street. Its site lists Windows on the Bay (restaurant), River Watch (lounge), a seasonal poolside tiki bar and outdoor dockside dining. The resort is built on an old steamboat wharf with water on three sides and a 2,000 ft dock.
- Bonnie Castle Resort, 31 Holland Street. Its site lists the Manor House Restaurant, the Riverside Sports Bar and The Pointe Bar and Grill, which is open seasonally. The Riverside Sports Bar describes a view of the St. Lawrence and Boldt Castle and opens at 5 pm late in the week. Call ahead for the day.
If you are coming by boat, ask about dockage when you call. We only list dock space where the restaurant tells us it has it.
Where can you eat on James Street and Market Street?
James Street is where the boat tours leave (Uncle Sam Boat Tours is at number 45), so it is the easiest place to eat before or after a Boldt Castle trip. Market Street is close by.
- Blu Anchor Restaurant and Bar, 48 James Street. Seasonal. Its site says it is open for the 2026 season.
- Cavallario's Bayside, at the James Street dock. A family-run counter-service pizzeria, per its site.
- 1864, 20 James Street. Open daily 12 pm to 9 pm on its Thrive listing.
- Korner Pizzeria and Family Restaurant, 10 James Street. Open from 10:30 am daily, to 8 pm Sunday and Monday, 9 pm Tuesday to Thursday and 10 pm Friday and Saturday, on its Thrive listing.
- Riverhouse Restaurant, 9 Market Street, and its Riverboat Bar at 15 Church Street. The menu covers burgers, sandwiches, seafood and Italian dishes, and there is a patio. September hours on its site: open at 4 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and at noon on Saturday. Closed Wednesday and Sunday. The site calls September 26, 2026 the last chance to dance at the Riverboat Bar for the season.
Where can you get breakfast in Alexandria Bay?
The North Star Family Restaurant at 114 Church Street is the one with breakfast hours published on its own site: 6:30 am to 2 pm every day, with breakfast served all day. Its site says omelets are the specialty.
Riveredge Resort's site also mentions breakfast at its restaurant. If you are not staying there, call and ask whether they seat walk-ins.
Where can you get dinner in Alexandria Bay?
For a sit-down dinner, Church Street and the Holland Street resorts are where to look. Cavallario's Steak and Seafood, 26 Church Street, says on its site that it opens every day at 4 pm. The Riverhouse, Riveredge and Bonnie Castle all serve dinner too. See above for their hours.
On summer weekends and during the Boldt Castle season, book ahead. After Columbus Day, check that the kitchen is open that night before you drive over the bridge.
Which Alexandria Bay restaurants are open after Columbus Day?
Fewer than in summer, and it changes year to year. Here is what the restaurants say on their own sites as of late September 2026:

Is Skiff's in Alexandria Bay open?
Yes. Skiffs is a bar and restaurant at 12 James Street, open since 1992, with live music through the week. Its site lists opening times for seven days but no closing times, so check before a late visit: skiffsbar.com, 315-482-7543.
